ELDRED - Alta Reif, 87, died at 11:21 a.m. Friday, July 18, 1986, at Boyd Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.

She was born in Greene County, the daughter of the late Daniel P. and Missouri (Coates) Stone.

On Dec. 11, 1919, in Jalappa, she married Frank Reif, and he died Aug. 23, 1985.

She was a longtime member of Eldred Baptist Church.

Surviving, are two sons, Dale Reif of Eldred and Delmar Reif of Carrollton; Tom Handlin of Eldred, whom they raised in their home; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday. Rev. William Baughman will officiate.

Burial will be in Jalappa Cemetery, and memorials may be give to the cemetery.
