JERSEYVILLE - Cleda L. Cope Hayes, 79, died at 8:40 a.m. Friday, May 3, 1991 at Jersey Community Hospital, Jerseyville.
She was a member of the Royal Neighbors.
Born in Rockbridge, on Aug. 17, 1911, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Hattie Estel (Carr) Marshall.
She married Clarence Cope on Jan. 4, 1928, in Carrollton; and he died on May 6, 1971. She later married Harry Hayes on Sept. 17, 1990, in Jersey County, and he survives.
Also surviving are a son, Eugene Cope of East Peoria; four daughters, Dorothea Reno of Kane, Frances Burch and Della Ivester, both of Delhi, and Linda Ayres of Grafton; 22 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; two great-greatgrandchildren; and a sister, Edith Bridges of Jerseyville.
Preceding her in death were a son, Richard L. Cope; and a foster son, Richard Kelley.
Visitation is from 5 to 9 p,m. today at Jacoby-Schroeder Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where services are at 1 p.m. Monday. The Revs. Earl Clagg and Paul Snow will officiate.
Burial is in Jalappa Cemetery near Kane.
Memorials may be made to Delhi Baptist Church, where she was a member, or Jersey Community Hospital.
