Helen Cope

JERSEYVILLE - Helen Cope, 82, died at 12:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 1993, at Greenwood Manor Nursing Home in Jerseyville.

She was born on Sept. 2, 1911, in Goodheart, Mich., a daughter of the late Adolph and Louisa (Armstrong) Emery.

Her marriage to Clemens Cope took place April 21, 1928. He died Dec. 8, 1976.

Surviving are three sisters, Sylvia Grills of Brighton, Vernice Fairbank of Berrien Spring, Mich. and Gladys Goble of Jonesboro, Ark. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Four brothers, Charles, Howard, Spencer and Marvin Emery and two sisters, Marie Cope and Lela Strokridge preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Jacoby Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Eugene Cope officiating.

Burial will be in Jalapa Cemetery, near Carrollton.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
