MOSES J. WILDER, a native of Nash county, N.C., born in 1751, came to Greene county in 1830, locating on the present site of Greenfield, in this township. He had been a soldier in the Revolution, and was with Gen. Greene in all his campaigns, and witnessed the fall of Baron DeKalb. He removed to Tennessee in 1818, where he remained until he came to this county. He was married some three times. In 1832 he removed back to the more genial clime of Tennessee, and died there in 1839.
