JOHN SCHUTZ, the eldest son of the above (George Schutz), was born in this county, on the 27th day of May, 1853. He was reared and educated in the county, and made his home with his parents up to the present time. Besides attending the district schools, he spent three years in the Burlington, Iowa, schools, where he finished his education. He succeeded to the ownership of the mill in 1873, at which time he turned it into a flour mill. He is the present postmaster at Schutz's Mill, having been appointed to the office in 1880.
