JOHN PAIRE, the youngest child of Hiram and Matilda Paire, was born on June 12, 1837, in Greene County, Ill., where he was reared, and for nearly half a century has made it his home. Even in his recollection, this county was almost a wilderness, and in the length of time he has lived here, he has seen its towns grow up, and most of the improvements in the county made. He was married, Sept. 10, 1865, to Eliza Ford, a native of Illinois. By this union there were six children - George Washington, married Nevia J. Kinser, lives in this county; Addie, Mark, Nevia J., and two who died in infancy. Mr. Paire is an industrious farmer, and is the possessor of 240 acres of land, lying in Walkerville and Patterson townships.
