DR. LINDSEY H. ENGLISH was a native of Greene county, having been born on a farm now owned by A. M. Cunningham, near the southeastern limits of the corporation of Carrollton. He was the son of Lindsey H. and Arabell (Turney) English, and his natal day was the 12th day of March, 1854. When he was about 16 years old his father moved with the whole family to Springfield, where the doctor made his home until coming back. In 1870 he entered Shurtleff College, and followed his studies at that institution until 1877. He then entered the Louisville Medical College, from which he graduated with the highest honors, in a class of 100, in 1879. In August of the same year he was united in marriage with Alice Roberts. The young couple moved to Woodville, this county, where he entered upon the practice of his profession. In 1883 he removed to Carrollton, where he died, Friday, June 26, 1885.
