JOHN ADCOCK was born in Greene county, Ill., on the 11th of April, 1832. He is a son of Isham and Rachel (Stinnett) Adcock, natives of the state of Kentucky. His father died on the 18th of April, 1857, while living on what is known as the Jonas Ward farm, about one and one-half miles northeast of the town of Woodville. His mother is still living, and resides with her children. On the 16th of June, 1859, John Adcock was married to Lydia Hooper, a daughter of William and Elizabeth (Witt) Hooper. Mr. Adcock has a farm of 160 acres on Sec. 36, T. 10, R. 13, and also owns a house and lot in Woodville. He is a steady, industrious farmer, and well respected by the community in which he resides.
