Internet access is available to all sixteen volumes of the Madison County Genealogical Society's cemetery books, Brink's History of Madison County, Portrait and Biographical Record, Naturalization Index, and the 1845, 1855, and 1865 Illinois State Census indexes for Madison County. Other items are planned for digitization. Instructions for accessing these items are as follows: Go to the Edwardsville Public Library website, http://www.edwardsvillelibrary.org/. Click on "Digital Library" on the menu bar at the top of the page. On the next page, click "Online Databases" in the column to the right. This will bring up a page of links to various online databases. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and pick "Illinois Digital Archives." If you wish, you can go directly to http://www.idaillinois.org/. Click on "Browse" under "Collections" on the right side of the screen. On the next screen, there will be a dropdown menu bar at the
top of the page. Most likely, it will say "Abraham Lincoln
- Documents." Click on the up/down arrows at the right end
of the bar and you will be given an alphabetical list of all
the currently available material. Scroll down to pick "Madison
County Genealogical Resources" and then click "go".
On the next screen, you will be presented with all the Madison
County material listed in alphanumeric order. You can browse
any item page by page or perform a search of all collections
or only the Madison County collection.
