Please note: the Genealogy Room is only open when a volunteer is on duty (75-85%
of the time).
As might be expected, the collection focuses on Lake County, Illinois, and the states and countries that contributed a significant number of settlers to our county. In addition to books and manuscripts, we also have card files, microfilms, microfiche, CDs, a microfilm & microfiche reader/printer, a copy machine, and two computers.
Ancestry.com is also available for researchers.
LCIGS provides the staff of volunteers who manage the room and the shelf list, help the patrons who visit.
This page is a work in progress. Sections will be added as they become ready.
