Microfilm Records

Kane County Genealogical Society members have processed and collected a multitude of records that pertain to Kane County research. Because many of the projects cover a small area of interest, these materials are unsuitable to publish in book form. In 1988, the group microfilmed 2000 pages of these materials and offered the film for sale (Kane County Compendium: 70 Sources of Genealogical Data). Following the first film, KCGS microfilmed another 5000 pages of material and are offering these items on three rolls of film.

With the exception of The Past and Present of Kane County, Illinois. Chicago: LeBaron, 1878., all the history book indexes are now on microfilm and include:

-  Commemorative, Biographical and Historical Record of Kane County, Illinois. Chicago: Beers,      Leggett & Co.1888;

-  Biographical Record of Kane County, Illinois. Chicago: S.J. Clarke Publishing Company, 1898;

-  Historical Encyclopedia of Illinois and History of Kane County, Illinois edited by Newton                Bateman, Paul Selby, Gen. John S. Wilcox. Chicago: Munsell Publishing Company, 1904;

-  History of Kane County, Illinois by R. Waite Joslyn & Frank Joslyn. Chicago: Pioneer, 1908.
