RANCIS A. BROWN is a farmer and stock-grower residing on section 10, Ashmore Township. He was born Feb. 1, 1859, on the place where he now resides. (For history of the parents see sketch of Edwin W. Brown.) June 25, 1882, Francis A. Brown was united in marriage to Miss Maggie Myers. She is the daughter of Frederick and Mary (Johns) Myers, and was born in Illinois, Nov. 3, 1861. Her parents are natives of Virginia, but are now living in Coles County, Ill. Her father is a man of fine business qualifications, and is one of the leading stock-dealers in the county. Mr. and Mrs. Brown have a beautiful little girl named Nettie P., born Sept. 11, 1885.
Mr. Brown owns a fine stock farm of 125 acres, on which he resides. He is a young man of energy and enterprise, and is successfully engaged in raising high grades of cattle and hogs. He is interested in public affairs, and like all the other members of his family is a Republican and Prohibitionist. His grandfather was a Mason.
