Rites Wednesday
For John Sturn,
Well Known Farmer

John Sturn, 76, retired farmer o[f] the Catlin community, a resident o[f] this vicinity since early manhoo[d] died Monday, Feb. 7, in Lake Vie[w] hospital. Funeral services were he[ld] Wednesday in the Catlin Methodi[st] church, of which he had been a tru[s]tee and custodian for many year[rs.] The Rev. D. Ross Fleming officiate[d.] Burial was in Oakridge cemete[ry] with Berhalter Funeral H[ome in] charge.

Mr. Sturn was born Sept. [ ] in New Albany, Ind., a son o[f ] and Julia Sturn, and was mar[ried to] Elizabeth Bentley in Catlin o[n ] 18, 1897. After retiring fro[m ] farm, he moved to Catlin whe[re he] was custodian for a time at the [Cat]lin High School and the Meth[odist] church. He also had been emplo[yed] by the Holden Lumber Co. He wa[s] a member of the Methodist chur[ch] for many years.

Surviving besides his wife is [a] brother, Joseph Sturn of New Albany, Ind. A son, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
