R. Sandusky, Silas Clark and others participated in an extensive wolf chase a few days since which terminated in the capture of the intruder.

Meeting still continues in the Christian Church. Rev. Mr. Cline is holding a series of meetings at Fair View a few miles South.

J. D. Hazelrigg moved to town this week after an absence of four years.

Married -- Wm. Richards to Miss Tompson, also M. W. Neigle, of Paris, to Miss Sidney Davis on the 2nd instant.

Some of our boys have been off ruralizing for their health but were able to return when the Grand Jury adjourned.

The Board of Directors have employed Mr. Wiley to teach the Spring term.

Mr. Wolf will take charge of the county poor farm on 12th of March. He is to receive $500.00, being $300.00 less than Mr. Olmstead received last year.

Mr. Tilton has two clerks, which shows an increase of trade.

Hogan the harpist has returned.

If you want to meet gentlemen who return civil answers to questions go to the express office.

John Rennick is hooping them up in Hoosier, but will return with the grass.

Miss Chamberlin, of Milmine, visited friends here last week.

Mike Lemon owned a horse six years, other parties claim him prove the same, but fortunately for Mike he finds men who will swear to the identity of the horse while he was a youth. Men should be careful as sometimes horses match very nearly and persons are easily deceived.

It appears as though the country is overflown with beggers, thieves and dead beats. It is well for people even in the country to keep their eyes skinned, their doors locked and a general lookout.
