CATLIN

The protracted meeting at the M. E. Church has closed; another is in progress at the Christian church, Reverend Harvey officiating. Reverend Conner of Indianapolis is expected in a few days. We have been somewhat annoyed by dogs attending; we hope Kaiser will leave his at home hereafter.

John Boggess, an old and respected citizen of our county died last Friday; he had lived his three score and ten years and left many virtues worthy of imitation.

Dr. Boggess of Iowa, but formerly of this county is among us.

Harvey Sanduskey is improving in health.

S. R. Tilton is preparing to move his stock of drugs.

William Jenkins has abandoned the Hines coal shaft.

Some of our young folks took oysters with Jessee Davis a few evenings since.

T. W. Kennedy, telegraph operator, is succeeded by Mr. Sewell.

A good horse belonging to Mr. Stark was found dead in the stable a few mornings since.

Summit Grove correspondent will receive the address of William Ross as soon as the writer obtains it.

Messrs, Gerling, Sanduskey, and Baum have just returned from New York, having taken stock, on which they lost $1,500, they have our sympathy.

Charles Hogan starts home today.
