Elma Pauline Shinn 94 Oblong died Friday August 2, 2002, at Crawford Memorial Hospital Robinson following an apparent heart attack. Elma was born August 14, 1907 in Stoy, Illinois and was the daughter of Fred Miller and Ruby (Beeman) Miller. On May 14, 1932, she married Joe Shinn who died November 12, 1977. Elma was a Homemaker and member of the Bible Chapel Church rural Oblong. Before Joe's death in 1977, Elma was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star. She was a graduate of Stoy Grade School on April 19, 1922, Graduate of Oblong High School Class of 1926 and that same year also Graduated from Utterback Business School.
Elma is survived by a nephew Barry Evans; two nieces Georgia Leigh & Nolan Atteberry and Elaine Simpson; four great nephews Richard Atteberry, John Alan Atteberry, Blake Evans and Gabe & Heather Simpson; two great nieces Kayla Atteberry and Jessica Simpson.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, one brother Clifford Miller; one sister Wilmetta Flynn; one niece Norma Evans; one great nephew Joshua Simpson and one great niece Patricia Miller.
Burial will be in Oblong Cemetery.
