L. Dale Rhyne, 95, died Saturday June 12, 2004 at his residence. Dale was born in Berne, Indiana on January 2, 1909 and was the son of Jesse Carl & Emma (Deitsch) Rhyne. On October 29, 1933 he married Emma Christine (Russell) and she survives. Dale retired from Mitchell's Greenhouse in 1984, Dale also taught school, was a school bus driver, worked at Lemons Hardware and Mont Eagle Mills, was a janitor at the Robinson IGA, a sawmill worker and Baptist Preacher. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oblong and Retired Teacher's Association. Dale was a graduate of Oblong Township High School Class of 1931and Eastern Illinois University Class of 1968.

Dale is survived by his wife Emma Christine, one son and daughter-in-law: John F. & Alice Rhyne; two daughters and sons-in-law: Clara E. & Leroy Smith and Ruth A. & Duane Centers; six grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and eight step-greatgrandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and seven step-great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Esther Klosterman & Elizabeth Piper; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Robert V. & Joan Russell, Naomi Russell, Joyce Brandts and Nellie Dennis; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Dale in death are his parents, two brothers: Harold & Elmer Rhyne; one sister: Helen (Rhyne) Beoughter; one grandson Michael D. Smith; one step-grandson Clinton Centers; one step-granddaughter Barbara Hall and one step-great grandson Tracy Lee Hall.

Burial will be in the Berlin Cemetery, Oblong, IL.
