Jonathan E. Reed, 36, Oblong, Illinois died Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois from injuries sustained in a auto accident. Jonathan was born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 20, 1966 and was the son of Oscar Eugene and Beryl (Able) Reed II. On April 25, 1995 he married Melissa Harding, she survives. Jonathan was employed at Hershey's Candy as a Milk Duds packaging operator. He served in the United States Marines for five years (1984-1989) and was affiliated with the Oblong Wesleyan Church.
Jonathan is survived by his wife Melissa, one daughter Jessica Thomas; Mother-In-Law & Father-In-Law Leslie and Sandy Hicks; three brothers Oscar E. Reed III, Roland Reed & James Reed; three sisters Jan Hillard, Michelle Davis & Shawn Foreman; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law Jim & Susan Baud and James & Cheryl Harding, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jonathan is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers who died at birth.
Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, with full Military Rites conducted by the Oblong American Legion Post #219.
