Freda E. Prout, 86 of Robinson, IL, died at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2003, at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center in Robinson. She was born October 22, 1917 in Bridgeport, IL, the daughter of Oliver Doss and Nina Keen Doss.
She was a secretary and bookkeeper at the Eastern IL Water Co. in Robinson for 15 years and for Décor Furniture Company in Carlsbad NM for over 10 years retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Robinson, a member and Past Matron of the Lawrenceville, IL Order of the Eastern Star. She had also been a member of the White Shrine.
Freda married Elmer Prout on June 26, 1937 and he preceded her in death on December 29, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her great granddaughter, Trista Jo Titsworth; and her son-in-law, Chalon Titsworth.
She is survived by 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila Titsworth, Robinson, Donna and Wayne Tracy, Robinson; Betty and Don Castleberry, Seminole, TX; 5 grandchildren and their spouses, Chalon Ray and Kaycee Titsworth, Hutsonville, Richard Scott and Lesley Titsworth, West York, Pamela and Collin Painter, Newburg, IN, Greg and Tracey Tracy, Terre Haute, IN, Amy and Andrew Chavarria, Hobbs, NM; 9 great grandchildren; 1 nephew, Eddie Dale, Tampa, FL; 3 sisters, Ruth White, Schererville, IN, Wilma Bender, Munster, IN, and Eileen Grubb, Evansville, IN.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Robinson with Rev. Bill Wiggs, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Monday at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Burial will be in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Memorials may be made to the Otterbein United Methodist Church or to the Good Samaritan Lincoln Trail Hospice with envelopes available at the funeral home.
