Sara Kay Pierson, 67, of Palestine, IL, died at 6:23 p.m. Sunday, September 25, at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL. She was born June 24, 1938 in Palestine, the daughter of Kenneth Marcel "Mar" Brown and Catherine Yeager Brown.

She worked at Victor-Dana Co. in Robinson for over 20 years; was a member of the Outer West Market Church of Christ; the Lucky Hearts Club; Crawford County Archeology Association; and the Catherine Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She married Delbert Pierson on September 24, 1955 and he preceded her in death on October 31, 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 2 sons in infancy, and her brother, Bill Brown.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Nolan Carter, Lawrenceville; her son, Joe Pierson and Paula Perrine, Palestine, and her children, Katie and Ryan, Palestine; 2 granddaughters; Ashley Carter, Robinson and Chelsea Carter, Lawrenceville; 2 grandsons, Nicholas Pierson, Robinson, Justin Gorbett, Springfield, IL; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Barbara Webster, rural Robinson and Sue and Clifford Inboden, rural Palestine; several nieces and nephews; and a special nephew and his wife, Vernon and Sandy Gagel, Louisville, KY.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 30th at the Outer West Market Church of Christ in Palestine. Visitation will be 1 hour preceding the service at the church. Rev. John Brand is in charge of services. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine. Memorials may be made to the Outer West Market Church of Christ, 803 West Market, Palestine.
