Robert W. Parsons, age 78, of Robinson, IL, passed away December 10, 2005 at 8:55 p.m. (EST) at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. He was born April 7, 1927 in Palestine, IL to Howard and Tessie (Hixson) Parsons.
Bob married Pat Adams Mitchell on October 26, 1962 and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Teri Brigham, Robinson; 3 granddaughters, Sarah Brigham, Valpariso, IN, Jessica Brigham, Robinson, and Valerie Brigham, Robinson; his great grandson Trenton Brigham, Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Greg Mitchell; and his sister, Dorothy McGahey.
He graduated from Palestine High School in the Class of 1945 and served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He was an office supervisor at the CIPS Plant in Hutsonville for 40 years and was a member of the Robinson First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ. He was also a member of the Robinson Elks Lodge #1188; the Robinson American Legion Post #69; and was a member of the Lincoln Trail Campers.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 14th, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. with Rev. Julie Western officiating Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 13th. Memorial contributions may be made to the Robinson First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ or to the American Cancer Society with envelopes at the funeral home.
