Foy R. Parker, 87, of Robinson, IL, died at 8:55 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2004 at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center, Robinson. He was born October 14, 1916 in rural Flat Rock, IL, the son of Charles G. Parker and Grace O. Burner Parker.

He served with the U. S. Navy in the Pacific during WWII. He retired from Marathon Oil Company as a mobile equipment foreman in 1976. He was a charter member of the Free Methodist Church in Robinson and the American Legion Post #69, Robinson. He was a Golden Glove Boxer in his youth.

He married Helen Camp, June 24, 1939 and she preceded him in death March 28, 1999. He was also preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Norman Parker and Clebert Parker; and 3 sisters, Edris Thompson, Pauline Gibson, and Loma Dillie.

He is survived by 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Warren and Mary Jo Parker, Robinson, and Gary Parker, Robinson; a daughter, Carolyn Parker, Robinson; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, William L. Parker, Lincoln Park, MI and Raymond L. and Faye Parker, Memphis, TN; 5 sisters and a brother-in-law, Marie Borden, Lawrenceville, Isabelle Hudson, Palestine, Lorena and Robert Michael, Robinson, Donna Oppenheimer, Cincinnati, OH, and Marjorie and Ralph Bolden, Lawrenceville; 4 grandchildren, Pam and Greg Mendenhall, Oblong, Amy and Rudy Telscher, DesPeres, MO, Leslie Claxon, Monticello, and Justin Parker, Savoy; 7 great grandchildren, Logan, Chase, Camryn, and Paige Mendenhall, Natalie and Jacob Telscher, and Ella Claxon; 4 sisters-in-law, Maxine Legg, Flat Rock, Lucille Hedges, Robinson, Vera Camp, Bridgeport, and Elizabeth Parker, Detroit, MI; a brother-in-law, Earl and Betty Camp, Lawrenceville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at the Free Methodist Church, Robinson with Rev. Burl Shinkle and David Ducommon officiating. Burial will follow in the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson with military graveside rites conducted by the V. F. W. Post #4549, American Legion Post #69, and the AmVets Post #33. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 5th at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson and from 9 a.m. till service time at the church on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Cotillion Ridge Nursing Department or to the Free Methodist Church.
