Elmo W. Murphy, 90, of Robinson, IL, died at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center, Robinson. He was born July 6, 1916 in Keener, Alabama the son of Edward Murphy and Sarah Holmes Murphy.

He served in the U. S. Army during WWII. He worked in production at Victor Dana, Robinson. He attended the Dayspring Full Gospel Fellowship.

He married Odessa Hodge November 19, 1955 and she survives. He is also survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Gordon Vaughan, Eldorado, IL and Wanda and David Pleasant, Robinson; 4 grandchildren and their spouses, Tim and Michelle Shaffer, Louisville, KY, Missy and John Moore, Benton, IL, Tony and Kate Pleasant, Charleston, IL, and Alex Pleasant, Robinson; 6 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2007 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Pastor Larry McCormick officiating. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 29th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Dayspring Full Gospel Fellowship, 14423 N.
