Glen Edward Miller, 83, of rural Palestine, IL, died at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center, Robinson. He was born May 27, 1923 in Palestine, IL, the son of Roy Miller and Blanche Walters Miller.

He was a member of Pleasant View Church for over 50 years and a World War II veteran serving in the Army from 1943 to 1945 on the European front. Glen, along with his father and brother, owned and operated Roy Miller and Sons Garage, later known as Roy Miller's Sons Garage from 1946 until 1981. After retiring from the garage, he engaged in farming until his death.

On October 10, 1942 he married Naomi Ruth Browning who preceded him in death on October 6, 2005.

He is survived by 1 daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Clifford Adams, Palestine; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Sharon Miller, Palestine, and Doug and Pat Miller, Greencastle, IN. He was the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren and their spouses, Chris and Kristy Adams, Roy, UT, Kirk and Tangela Adams, Roanoke, TX, Gayle and Brent Zaring, Robinson, Peggy and Satoshi Setoguchi, Renton, WA, Tammi and Jason Wesner, Palestine, Dana and Bob Locke, Carmel, IN, Susan and J. D. Trimble, Robinson, Scott and Kristi Zane, Robinson, Lathe and Nicole Miller, Grand Rapids, MI, Keith Miller, Louisville, KY, and Erin Miller, Indianapolis, IN: 13 great grandchildren, Jacob, Kelly, and Emily Adams, Megan, Logan, Cole, and Lance Wesner, Garrett and Jordan Locke, John Caleb and Matthew Trimble, Marisa and Alexia Zane; 1 brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Marjorie Miller, Palestine; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Charles Moore.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Pleasant View Church, rural Palestine with Rev. Tom Akers officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted by the combined units of the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549, Robinson American Legion Post #69, Flat Rock American Legion Post #132, and Palestine AmVets Post #33. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, January 19th. at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine. Memorials may be made to the PPPS Harper House which was the Miller family home from 1936-1999 or to the Pleasant View Church with envelopes available at the funeral home and church.
