Zelma Mikeworth

Zelma L. Mikeworth, 89, Oblong, was taken by the hand of the Lord to her Eternal Home in Heaven from Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong at about 11:00 a.m. on Thursday August 3, 2006.

Born October 12, 1916 in Jasper County, she was the daughter of William Fear and Flossie Ethel (Newsome) Fear. She was a homemaker and former church secretary at Beech Grove, Indiana before moving to Oblong. She was a member of the Highland Church of Christ, Robinson, Berean Sunday School Class, Senior Bible Study and Fellowship Group, Charter Member of the Northview Christian Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Her hobbies included quilting, china painting, knitting, crocheting and camping.

On June 25, 1937, she married Russell Mikeworth, who survives, they were married for 69 years. Also surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Kay Mikeworth; four grandchildren, Kenneth and Janet Mikeworth, Eric and Minhong Mikeworth, Sean & Amy Mikeworth and Annette Mikeworth; thirteen great-grandchildren, Angela and her husband John Berry, Rebecca, Christoper, Eric Jr., Jessica, Laura, Seth, Sydney, Alexander, Jennifer, Jacob, Trinity and Hannah Mikeworth; two sisters-in-law, Norma Mikeworth and Hazel Osborne; several nieces and nephews and step-sister, Naomi Smith.

Preceding her in death were her parents, one son, David Roger Mikeworth, one brother, Ralph Fear, one sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Nolan Eubank and two brothers-in-law, Millard Mikeworth and Herb Osborne.

Burial will be in the Shiloh Cemetery, rural Willow Hill, Illinois.
