Marcella L. McCormick, 81 of Robinson, IL, died at 3:30 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2005 at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center in Robinson. She was born July 15, 1924 in Palestine, the daughter of Harold Swanner and Fletta Steward Swanner. She was a member of the South Union Church in rural Flat Rock. Marcella was employed by WalMart for over 15 years prior to her retirement and had received the "Star Cashier" recognition signed by Sam Walton.
She is survived by her daughter, Wilma Jean McCormick; her sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Harold Dean Miller, Robinson; 2 nephews, Tom and Tim Miller; 4 cousins, Bonnie Clark, Greenville, Patty Dunlap, Robinson, Steve Coulter, Palestine, and Ronald Coulter, Springfield, MO ; and her care givers and special friends, Ramona and Bill Knoblett, Jayne Fuller, Anita Carroll, Chrissy and Eric Smith, James, Joseph, and Jennifer Patterson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 30th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Brother Jack Cunningham is in charge of services. Burial is in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 29th. Memorials may be made to the South Union Church Building Fund with envelopes at the funeral home.
