George Allen Maxey 69 Olney died Friday October 20, 2000 at his residence in Olney following several months of poor health. He was born January 27, 1931 in Casey, Illinois. He was the son of Jesse James & Flora Ethel (Biggs) Maxey. On April 12, 1951 he married Norma Faye Miller, they later divorced. Later on he married Georgia Loy and they later divorced. He was a heavy equipment diesel mechanic / truck driver for Dittamore at Teutopolis, IL. Atkins & Duframes at Newton, IL; and Parker Brothers in Oblong, IL. He was a member of Willis Chapel Church of God in Martinsville, IL. George was a former member of the Newton V.F.W. and Robinson Moose Lodge #1369. He was a member of the Eagles Club of Olney.
George is survived by 2 Sons & Daughters-In-Laws Joe & Angie Maxey and Rick & Patty Maxey; 3 Daughters & Sons-In-Laws Linda & Fred Michl, Sheryl & Ed Park and Connie Maxey; 9 Grandchildren Leondra Jo Laughlin, Jason Eric Maxey, Christopher George Dowds, Kimberly Ann Maxey, Travis Edward Park, Joe Allen Maxey Jr., Dustin dean Maxey, Jesse James Maxey and Jessica Nichole Maxey; 3 Great Grandchildren Jordon Kait Laughlin, Kaitlyn Marie Maxey & Dalton Christopher Dowds; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Ex-Son-In-Law Joe Archie Dowds.
He is preceded in death by his Parents, Son Robert "Bobby" Dean Maxey; Sister Lola Mary Updegraff; Brother Leroy "Bud" James Maxey; 2 Brothers-In-Law John Grant & Lloyd Estie Updegaff; Niece Marilyn Ilene Grant; Ex- Mother & Father In-Law Frieda & Leo Miller
