Mack H. Mason, 88, Robinson, passed away at 2:35 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2007, at Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong from Parkinson Disease. Born on November 27, 1918, in Oblong, he was the son of Ora Mason and Blanche (Henry) Mason. He served with the U. S. Army Air Corps during W. W. II. He attended the University of Illinois and studied history. He owned a Maytag Store in Oblong; owned and operated Mason's True Blue Propane HEATING Gas and Anhydrous Ammonia, Oblong Appliance & Furniture for over 60 years. He was a member of the Central United Methodist Church, Oblong. Mack took his business very seriously, his customers were his friends and they were treated that way. Mack's hobbies were collecting antiques, going to auctions, reading books about politics & history and worrying about politics and the market. He enjoyed playing checkers with the children and grandchildren.

On May 14, 1944, he married Marcella Anspach, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters and two sons: Monalu Mason, Michael and Sue Mason, Milo Mason, Melody and Tom Nelson and Meleah and Nick Olandese; thirteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, rural Jasper County, Illinois.
