Roberta Charlene Martin, 74, of rural Flat Rock, IL, died Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN. She was born May 1, 1929 in Allendale, IL, the daughter of Charles E. Osborne and Beatrice Linxwiler Osborne. She worked in the office at L. S. Heath and at Marathon. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Hardinville, IL.
She married Herman F. Martin on July 16, 1949 and he preceded her in death on February 21, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and 2 brothers, Jackie Osborne and Robert Osborne.
She is survived by 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Sammy Davis, rural Flat Rock, Susan Morris, St. Paul, MN, Tami and David Ikemire, Robinson, Rhonda and Dean Dunlap, Cody, WY; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Norma and Marion Shipman, Hardinville, Janet and Ansel Howe, Robinson; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Rex and Chris Osborne, Sarasota, FL and Allen and Virginia Osborne, Robinson.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2003 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Pastor Jason Donaldson officiating. Burial will be in the Hardinville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, September 20th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.
