Richard Byron Maddox, 85, of Scottsdale, AZ, died Saturday, February 17th at the Hospice of Valley, Scottsdale, AZ. He was born May 3, 1921 in Vincennes, IN, the son of Lloyd and Florence (Martin) Maddox.

He was an installer/repairman for the telephone industry in several states, and served in the US Army Air Force during World War II.

He is survived by is sister, Mary Bush, Palestine; one niece and her spouse, Mary Louise and William Sier, Manhattan, KS; one nephew, Joe Bush, Evansville, IN; 2 great-nephews of whom he was very fond, Andrew Sier, Manhattan, KS and Matthew Sier, Avon, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Lester Bush.

Funeral services are Thursday, February 22nd at 2:00 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine with Rev. Tom Akers in charge. Burial is in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation is from 12:00 noon to service time at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
