Robert Howard Loughery, 93, of Oak Forest, IL, formerly of Crawford County, IL, died Monday, July 19, 2004 at the Lexington Health Care of Orland Park, IL. He was born July 11, 1920 in Palestine, IL, the son of Claude Loughery and Lena Templeton Loughery. He was an engineer with the Illinois Central Railroad. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII and was a member of the Robinson Elks Lodge #1188 and a past member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

He married Faye Babb on June 29, 1951 and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Janice and James Morrissy, Oak Forest, IL; 3 grandchildren, Kyle, Marc, and Jake Morrissy; his brother and sister-in-law, Vaughn and Bunny Loughery, Houston, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his 2 sisters, Virginia Henry and Mildred Thisselle.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 23rd at 11:00 a.m at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine. Rev. Rich Swisher is in charge of services. Burial is in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation is from 9:30 a.m to service time on Friday. Memorials may be made to the Caboose Maintenance Fund in Palestine with envelopes available at the funeral home.
