Marylan Leggitt, 64, Oblong, Illinois died Thursday August 12, 2004 at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, Illinois. Marylan was born in Oblong, Illinois on October 9, 1939 and was the daughter of Albert "Shine" & Nellie (Harrison) Shinn. On June 4, 1961 she married Orren Leggitt and he survives. Marylan worked at the Hi-Way Cafe in Oblong, First National Bank of Oblong as a Bookkeeper, Sandiford Oil Company as a Bookkeeper and Janitor at the E. U. M. Church in Oblong. She was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church, Oblong where she served as Treasurer for 23 years, pianist and organist for 40+ years and Sunday School teacher for many years. Her hobbies included mowing yards, crafts, Orren's Quality Control Inspector but most of all her grandchildren.
Marylan is survived by her husband Orren; one son & daughter-in-law: Brian & Nora Leggitt; one daughter: Beth Leggitt; two granddaughters: Erin & Katelyn Leggitt; two sisters-in-law: Charlotte Tincher and Laura Dale Smith; one niece: Gayle Smith and one nephew: Alden Smith. Her parents preceded her in death.
Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, IL.
