Daniel E. Lawhead, 60, of Lawrenceville, IL, formerly of Robinson, IL, died at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at his home after an extended illness. He was born May 7, 1945 in Robinson, IL, the son of Dennis and Leola Skaggs Lawhead. He worked for Raggo Printing and Office Supply in Lawrenceville for 16 years and was a lifetime member of the Harley Owners Group. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1962-1967 and was a member of the Robinson American Legion Post #69, the Robinson Elks Lodge #1188, and the Lawrenceville Moose #779.

He married Tracy Storms, July 22, 2000 and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Lee Lawhead Waggoner, Robinson; his son and daughter-in-law, James and Misti Lawhead, Rockford, TN; a stepdaughter and her husband, Jessie and Phillip Merydith, Wheatland, IN; a stepson, Brandon Cassidy, Lawrenceville; 3 grandchildren; his brother, James F. Lawhead, Spokane, WA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Steven Brimberry; and 3 brothers, Dennis, Bobby, and David Lawhead.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2005 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. till service time Thursday. Burial will follow cremation in the Hutsonville Cemetery on Sunday, August 28, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with military rites conducted by the Robinson American Legion Post #69, Flat Rock American Legion Post #132, Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549, and AmVets Post #33.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice with envelopes available at the funeral home.
