Scott Eric Knoblett, 42 of rural Palestine, IL, died at 10:50 p.m. Monday, September 6, 2004 at his home on La Motte Prairie. He was born August 20, 1962 in Lawrenceville, IL, the son of Leonard and Jeannette Jourdan Knoblett. He was a La Motte Praire farmer, coached the Palestine 5th and 6th grade basketball team, was a past president of the Palestine Little League; was an avid stock car fan and a great hunter. He attended the Oak Grove Congregational Church and the Outer West Market Church of Christ. He was also a member and secretary of the Oak Grove Cemetery Association.

Scott married Mindy Motor on March 25, 1989 and she survives. He is also survived by his two sons, Ethan Scott and Cole Thomas Knoblett at home; his parents Leonard and Jeannette Knoblett, rural Palestine; his paternal grandmother, Vera Knoblett, Robinson; and his maternal grandmother, Mary Lois Jourdan, Palestine; his mother and father-in-law, Nial and Maggie Motor, Robinson; his brother, Todd Knoblett, rural Palestine; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Shari and Jim Eckert, rural Palestine, and Vicki and Allen Wood, Fishers, IN. He is also survived by 2 nieces ; Susannah Eckert, La Motte Prairie and Natalie Motor, Springfield; 5 nephews, A. K. Wood, Fishers, IN, Seth Wood, Fishers, IN, Joseph Eckert, Samuel Eckert, and Jacob Eckert, all of La Motte Prairie; his aunts and uncles, Ruth Reinbold, Normal, IL, Charles and Donna Jourdan, Yorkville, IL, Donald and Nancy Knoblett, La Motte Prairie, and Eugene Reinbold, Palestine. He is survived by cousins, Greg Knoblett, Doug Knoblett, Debbie Reinbold, all of Palestine, Kathy Bachman, Bloomington, IL, Karen Sutter, Normal, Sally O'Donnelly, Chicago, Jeff Jourdan, Waukesha, Wi, Brad Jourdan, Greg Jourdan, and Julie Savitski, all of Hinkley, and Mark Jourdan, Yorkville.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Floyd Knoblett, his maternal grandfather, Guy C. Jourdan, and his niece, Emma Jane Eckert.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 10th at 11:00 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Rev. John Brand is in charge of services. Burial is in Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and from 9-11 on Friday prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Ethan and Cole Knoblett Scholarship Fund with envelopes at the funeral home.
