Earl Knight, age 85, of Robinson, IL, died at 1:10 p.m., October 23, 2005 at Miller Merry Manor Nursing Center, Sullivan, IN. He was born November 28, 1919 in Anna, IL to John Knight and Ida Craiglow Knight. He worked as a custodian for Unit 2 Robinson Grade School for 28 years, retiring in 1981.
Earl married Jane Powden on January 6, 1945 and she preceded him in death on July 18, 1970. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Sammy Knight.
He is survived by 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Bobbie and Reiko Knight, Odenten, Maryland, Bill and Jane Knight, San Antonio, TX, Steve and Nancy Knight, Minnetonka, MN; 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley Knight, Robinson, Margie and Jerry Waggoner, Robinson, Becky and Harry Drake, Farmersburg, IN, Jenelle and Dr. Gregory Pfaau, Fortville, IN; 10 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; his brother, Glen Knight, Granbury, TX; and his step-daughter, Norma Adams, Union City, TN.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson, IL. with Don Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in the Robinson New Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Robinson Booster Club, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
