Margaret E. "Maggie" Johnson, 89, of Franklin, IN, formerly of Palestine, IL, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Franklin, IN. She was born December 2, 1917 in Monroe County, IN, the daughter of Ray Fleener and Cordelia McCoy Fleener. She was a homemaker and a member of the Robinwood Assembly of God Church in Robinson, IL.
She married Lester E. Johnson January 10, 1945 and he preceded her in death January 7, 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Joan Reynolds and Pauline Richardson; and 1 brother, Robert Fleener.
She is survived by her daughter Janet Stone, Franklin, IN; 3 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren; her son-in-law, David Stone; 2 sisters, Virginia Jones, Palestine, Pat Fleener, Bloomington, IN; 2 brothers and her sister-in-law, Gene and Evelyn Fleener, Bloomington, IN, and Larry Fleener, Bloomington, IN; and her sister-in-law, Joan Fleener, Bloomington, IN.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the Wright Chapel of the Franklin United Methodist Community, Franklin, IN with Rev. John Eley officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the funeral service. A public visitation will be Sunday from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Private family graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 22nd at the Palestine Cemetery.
