Frank Benson Hubbard, Jr. of Gary, IN, died at 11:05 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2005 at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center in Robinson. He was born October 21, 1914 in Chicago, IL, the son of Frank Benson Hubbard, Sr. and Matilda Buerck Hubbard.

Frank served in the U. S. Army Signal Corps during WWII in Japan. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a B. S. in Industrial Engineering. He was retired from U. S. Steel in 1966 after over 20 years of service. After his retirement, he was employed by Inland Metals and Reynolds Company in Chicago. He was a past member of the Dunes Optomist Club, Bethel Lutheran Church in Gary, and the Living Word Church in Lantana, Florida. He was an avid bridge player, enjoyed shuffleboard, swimming, and reading. He was widely traveled in Europe, South America and Asia.

He married LaVerne Bloomberg on September 28, 1947 and she survives. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Jonice Hubbard, West Jordan, Utah; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Steve Skancke, Great Falls, VA, and Sue and Ernie Roales, Robinson. There are 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren: Andrea and her husband, Glen Mabey, and their children, Corinne, Peter, James, and John Mabey; Neal and Becky Hubbard and their daughter, Ruth Hubbard, David Hubbard, Paul Roales, Holly and her husband, Karl Christianson, Matthew Skancke, Jonathan Roales, Carolyn Skancke, Dallin Hubbard, and Thomas Hubbard.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2005 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Rev. Bill L. Wiggs, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. preceding the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
