Rex Hoggatt, 69, of rural Robinson, IL, died at 2:30 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2007 at his residence of an apparent heart attack. He was born December 8, 1937 in Jackson County, IN, the son of Nelson Hoggatt and Wilma (Browning) Hoggatt.

He retired from Chrysler Corp. and moved to Tennessee where he was employed by Maytag until he retired in 2000. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #615, Martinsville, IN for 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his father; and 1 son, Darrell Hoggatt.

He married Teri (Towell) Hightshoe October 8, 1992 and she survives. He is also survived by his mother, Wilma Hoggatt, Indianapolis, IN; his son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Kathy Hoggatt, Cleveland, TN; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Renada and Rick Vanmeter, Bloomington, IN and Dinah and John Shrum of Kentucky; 2 step-sons and step-daughter-in-law, Kevin and Lisa Hightshoe and Kip Hightshoe; and a step-daughter, Melissa Hightshoe; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Harlen and Judy Hoggatt, St. Paul, IN, Nelson and Nancy Hoggatt, Mooresville, IN; David and Lori Hoggatt, Cleveland, TN; and 1 sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Ronnie Ferris, Cleveland, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at a later date in Indiana. The Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson, IL is in charge of local arrangements.
