Dana Lee Hargis, 72, of rural Robinson, IL, died at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at her residence after a battle with cancer. She was born May 29, 1933 in Robinson, IL on Rocky Bluff Road, the daughter of James and Myrtle Whitehead. She graduated from Robinson High School in 1951. She worked as a secretary for over 15 years at Kemper CPA. She was a life member of the Robinson V. F. W. Ladies Auxiliary Post #4549 and a member of the Robinson American Legion Auxiliary Post #69.

She married George Max Hargis December 19, 1966 and he survives. She is also survived by 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Doris and Ed Moyer, Fishers, IN and Fran Seaney, Flower Mound, TX; her step daughter and her husband, Jan and Charles Miller, Oblong; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Louise and Gene Purcell, Oblong; and 18 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Myrtle Whitehead; and 2 sisters, Mary Ellen Adcock and Jean Poindexter.

There will be cremation with no services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the V. F. W. Ladies Auxiliary Post #4549 to be used for Relay for Life.
