James William Gullett, 78 of Palestine, IL, died Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Danville Veteran's Hospital in Danville, IL. He was born April 6, 1926 in Palestine, the son of Medford Gullett and Esther Hawkins Gullett. He worked at Miesenhelder Mill and as a draftsman at Case Pottery. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps during WWII and was a member of the Highland Avenue Baptist Church in Robinson. He was a member of the Robinson American Legion Post #69 and the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549.

Jim married Dorothy Darlene Gowin on March 29, 1968 and she preceded him in death on January 5, 1989. He then married Pauline Martin Mills on September 6, 1989 and she preceded him in death on May 13, 1991. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tommy L. Gullett on March 30, 1996.

He is survived by his two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Suzanne Gullett, Palestine, Bob and Bobbette Gullett, Green Valley, AZ; 3 step children, Raymond Kidwell, James Kidwell, and Pat Langley; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 24th at 11:00 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Homes, Palestine with Rev. Jerry McDaniel in charge of services. Burial is in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. Thursday to service time. Memorials may be made to the Highland Avenue Baptist Church in Robinson with envelopes at the funeral home. Military graveside services will be conducted by the combined units of the Robinson American Legion Post #69, the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549, and the Amvets Post #33.
