Richard E. Gray, 70, of Robinson, IL, died at 8:25 a.m. E.S.T., Thursday, January 29, 2004 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. He was born August 13, 1933 in Graysville, IN, the son of Vernal Gray and Lydia Goff Clark. He was an operator at Marathon Oil Company retiring in 1993 after 33 years of service. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He married Maxine Hall on November 2, 1957 and she survives. He is also survived by 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Michael Dunlap, Palestine, Barbara and Donald Rowbotham, Old York, Dee and Andy Osborn, Robinson; his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Valerie Gray, Palestine; 8 grandchildren, Stephanie Gray, Andrew Gray, Amy Michl, Stacey Cooper, Ashley Cooper, Bill Miller, Cassandra Miller, and Grace Osborn; 3 great grandchildren, Kelsey Michl, Bryan Michl, Caleb Michl; his brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Sharon Gray, Ft. Collings, CO, his sister, Marilyn Orell, St. Elmo; his sister-in-law, Billie Gray, Winston Salem, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2004 at Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine. There will be no visitation. Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
