Iona Richards Garrard, 90, of Robinson, IL, died Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at 12:50 a.m. at the Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center, Robinson. She was born August 31, 1913 in Lawrence County, IL, the daughter of John W. Bradberry and Marinda A. Midgett. She worked in production at L. S. Heath & Sons and was a Charter Member of the South Union Home Extension.
She married Walter Richards and he preceded her in death on December 18, 1976. She married George Garrard on April 21, 1982 and he preceded her in death on October 7, 1996. She was also preceded in death by 3 grandsons; her granddaughter; 3 brothers, Allen, Harry, and Gale LeRoy Bradberry; and 4 sisters, Elizabeth Rich, Flossie Brady, Catherine Simons and Jean Bradberry.
She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Walter "Bill" and Carol Richards, Universal City, TX, and Larry and Velma Richards, Phoenix, AZ; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; 1 step son and his wife, Richard and Judith Garrard, Palestine; 1 step grandson; 1 step great grandchild; 1 brother and sister-in-law, John and Carol Bradberry, Salesberry, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are Saturday, May 8, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson, IL. Burial will be in the Tohill Cemetery, rural Flat Rock, IL. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 7th at the funeral home and until service time on Saturday.
