Hazel May Fritchie, 79 of Palestine, IL, died at 5:45 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2005 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. She was born May 19, 1926 in Lawrence County, IL, the daughter of Harry Hamilton and Nettie Mason Hamilton. She was a homemaker.
Hazel is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Walter Jr. and Beverly Fritchie, Palestine; her two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Maurice Shore, Strawberry Plains, TN, and Rebecca and Myron Helm, Oblong; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Christie, St. Francisville, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Walter T. Fritichie, Sr. who she married on September 19, 1945 and preceded her in death on February 27, 2003; 3 brothers,Herbert, Charles, and George Hamilton; and 2 sisters, Helen Wilson and Anna Whittaker.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 31st at 2:00 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Visitation is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday. Burial is in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
