Virginia M. Fred, 86, of Palestine, IL, died at 5:15 a.m. Sunday, July 31, 2005 at the Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Effingham, IL. She was born June 23, 1919 in DuQuoin, IL, the daughter of Quincy Manion and Della Sanders. She was a housewife. She was a member of the Old DuQuoin Baptist Church, DuQuoin, IL.
She married Charles Fred, Jr. and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 1 daughter, Margie Kay Fred; 1 son, Charles E. Fred; and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry Ray and Sharon Fred, Bourbonnais, IL, and Ronald Dean Fred, Palestine; 12 grandchildren, Mark Fred, Palestine, Jeff Fred, Effingham, Kathy Adams, Altamont, Todd Fred, Colorado Springs, CO, Brant Fred, Bourbonnais, Melissa Dolliger, Bourbonnais, Cory Marcotte, Marion, Steven Marcotte, Bourbonnais, Mike Fred, Chebanse, Karen Sadler, Springfield, Matthew Fred, Carbondale, and Tracy Murray, Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2005 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine with Rev. John Brand officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, August 4th from 10-11:00 a.m. Burial will in the Old DuQuoin Cemetery, DuQuoin, IL.
