Max Keith Elliott, 68, of Stoy, IL, died at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL. He was born October 9, 1938 in Crawford County, IL, the son of Herbert Elliott and Ruth Wiman Elliott.
He was a retired truck driver and was a member of the First Christian Church, Oblong.
He married Doris Kay Hoke June 9, 1978 and she survives. He is also survived by 5 sons and daughters-in-law, Toby Keith Elliott, Terre Haute, IN, Jeffery Keith and Julie Hoke, Kuwait City, Kuwait, Cary & Stacey Elliott, Robinson, Timothy Jay and Sharon Elliott, Austin, TX, Marty Keith and Gena Elliott, Clarksville, TN; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Jill and Randy Nidey, Stoy, Cindy and Ed Haas, Vandalia, IL, Jody Visner, Oblong; 17 grandchildren, Ian, Anna, and Isaac Hoke, Britagne Elliott, Zachary and Natalie Elliott, Josh and Stephanie Rodgers, Jessie and Spud Ault, Stephanie Stephens, Nathan and Taryn Nidey, David Runyon, Jolena Visner, Chad Haas and Stacey York; 6 great grandchildren, Josey Ault, Macie Stephens, Aaron, Anthony, Isabella, and Joseph Martinez; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Janet and Ocie Smith, Oblong and Gloria Elliott, Hawaii; 2 step-brothers, Chuck and Donna Baker, Oblong and Larry Baker, Robinson; and 2 step-sisters, Jo Flairity, Omaha, NE, and Martha and Don Lewis, Oblong.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Connie Elliott.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2007 at the Hardinville Cemetery, Hardinville, IL. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 23rd at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson, IL. Memorials may be made to the Oblong Sports Booster Club with envelopes available at the funeral home.
