Ronald H. Dix, 62, of Hutsonville, IL, died about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, Ind. after an extended illness.

Born Aug. 8, 1941, in Palestine, he was the son of Carl Otto Dix and Lois F. Lamb Dix. He was employed as a truck driver for 25 years in the "dry freight" division of Marathon Oil Company, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church, rural Martinsville.

On June 19, 1960, he married Linda L. Myles, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Lois Dix, Hutsonville; four daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Allen Van Meter, Carlisle, Ind., Cindy and Stephen Fulling, Palestine, Tracy and Doc Mehler, Hutsonville, and Carla and Randy Strohm, Robinson; nine grandchildren, Trey and Abby Van Meter, Nathan Fear, Adam Fulling, Jacob, Logan, and Lucas Mehler, and Tanner and Tasha Strohm; his mother-in-law, Doris Munden, Hutsonville; a brother and sister-in-law, Sue and Dee Neibarger, Marshall; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Don and Nancy Myles, Palestine, Sarah Myles, Bridgeton, Mo., Robert and Dorothy McColly, Robinson, and Harry "Butch" and Judy Myles, Hutsonville; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Preceding him in death was his father, Carl Otto Dix, on July 27, 1998.

Graveside funeral service is 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at Oak Grove Cemetary, rural Palestine, with Bro. Randy Nave and Bro. Don Russell officiating. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson.
