Edith I. "Pinkie" Deaver, 77 Robinson, died about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2000, At Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center, Robinson, following a brief illness. Born March 17, 1923, in Jonesboro, IL she was the daughter of Thomas Weaver and Ava Edith LeFever.

She worked piecework at Ettlebrick Shoe Factory, a clerk at Oblong Index and was a Homemaker. She was a member of Oblong First Christian Church, Robinson Women of the Moose and E.M. Coulter American Legion Post # 69 Auxiliary, and Robinson.

On March 16, 1963, she married Lorin K. "Danny" Deaver, who preceded her in death on March 26, 1995.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; and infant daughter, Donna Sue: and a brother.

Survivors include two daughters and son-in-laws, Carole and Herb Jones and Sherry and Bob Catt, all of Oblong; four grandchildren, JJ Jones. Lynis Michl, Lisa Pinkston and Lori Smith, all of Oblong; Seven great-grandchildren, Christopher Jones, Andrew Ochs, Elliot Smith, Kelsey Pinkston, Kailyn Pinkston, Isaiah Michl and Breanna Michl, all of Oblong; a sister, Lucille Daugherty, Terre Haute, IN.; Brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws Wayne and Mildred Deaver, Guy and Pat Deaver, Oxnard, CA., Roy and June Deaver, Las Vegas, NV and sister-in-law, Francis Sprague, of Robinson; a niece, Patty Stiegelbauer, Terre Haute, IN; and a nephew, Bob Diekmann, Chesapeake, VA.

The funeral is 10 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2000 at the Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, with Brother David Huey officiating. Burial is in the Oblong Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Friday and until service time Saturday. Memorials may be made to the Oblong First Christian Church Youth Building Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.
