Harold W. Deatherage 71, Oblong, died Wednesday September 13, 2000 at 3:15 a.m. at Ridgeview Care Center Oblong, following several years of poor health. Harold was born on January 30, 1929 in Richmond KY. He was the son of George P. & Viola Willoughby Deatherage. On October 14, 1950 he married Mayme Van Winkle. Harold was a Supervisor at Briggs Manufacturing in Robinson and he retired in 1990 after 37 years of service. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951 - 1953. He was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church, Oblong, IL. Harold was an avid golfer and was a member of Oak Glen Golf Course.
Harold is survived by his wife Mayme; One Son & Daughter-in-law, Danny & Debbie Deatherage; One Daughter and Son-in-law, Carol & Steve Holliday; Four Grandchildren Steven & Zach Deatherage and Heather & Heath Holliday; One Brother & Sister-in-law, David & Betty Deatherage; One Sister & Brother-in-law, Sara & Reed Babb; Two Sister-In-Laws, Julia Bradbury & Edna Mendenhall; Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law Leroy & Norma Van Winkle; Several Nieces and Nephews. Harold is preceded by his parents
