Janis C. Christians, 70, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 8:25 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2008, at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson. Born on February 17, 1938, in Meeker County, Minnesota near Litchfield, she was the daughter of Roland William Lindberg and Juanita Pearl O'Hair.

Janis worked as a realtor in Paw Paw, Illinois; worked at a jewelry store in Effingham, Illinois; and was owner of the Village Tap in Oblong, Illinois. She was baptized in the Christian faith. Janis was a member of the Oblong American Legions Post #219 Auxiliary and the Illinois Liquor Association. She was an avid shopper.

On November 17, 1956, she married Vernon G. Christians, who preceded her in death on October 13, 1993. Also preceding her in death were her parents and two sons Rick and Anton (Tony).

She is survived by three sisters, Gloria & Luvern Rindfleisch, Roslyn Knake and Carol & Jerome Wagner; one brother, Derald & Darlene Christians; one sister-in-law, Janyce Christians; one brother-in-law, Lee Van Norman; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
