Charlie Eugene Chapman, 81, of Robinson, IL, died at 7:25 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2004 at his residence. He was born October 15, 1922 in Hunt City, IL, the son of Marley Chapman and Nannibell Cook Chapman. He was a driver for Marathon retiring after 29 years of service. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the Robinson Masonic Lodge # 250, Danville Consistory, Robinson American Legion Post #69, and the Otterbein United Methodist Church.

He married Josephine Francis on December 29, 1945 and she survives. He is also survived by his 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Larry G. and Gail Chapman, DeMotte, IN, and Harry Chapman, Dallas, TX; and his daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Carl Payne, DeSoto, IL; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Louis Chapman.

Funeral services are at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 2, 2004 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson, IL. Rev. Bill L. Wiggs, Jr. is in charge of services. Burial is in the Mounds Cemetery, rural Jasper County. Visitation is from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Lincoln Trail Hospice, 520 S. Seventh St, Vincennes, IN or to the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 602 E. Pine, Robinson, IL with envelopes available at the funeral home.
